6v3 to 4v2 rondo
Rondos
Set up a rectangular pitch divided into two equal zones, with two posts at each end (total of 4). Begin with 6 attackers and 3 defenders. The game starts in one zone as a 4v2 possession game—4 attackers versus 2 defenders. The goal for the attackers is to maintain possession and then transfer the ball to the other zone. When the ball is played into the second zone, only the required number of attackers (2) move into the next zone, and 2 others follow, creating a new 4v2 situation in that zone. This movement must be timed so that as the ball moves, the right number of players arrive to maintain the 4v2 structure—no standing or waiting players are involved. Defenders shift dynamically and rotate as needed. If the defenders win the ball, they quickly try to score in either of the two nearest posts. This drill develops possession under pressure, intelligent off-the-ball movement, communication, and defensive transition.
